Mauritian Foods Online (MFO) is a well-known brand, they sell food products from Mauritius across the UK and overseas.
MFO acquired our services to ensure their web/social media/digital strategy complements their existing offline marketing objectives.
What we did
Our first job was to gain a strong understanding of the brand, the marketplace and the objectives of the business. We then developed an effective strategy for the business which required careful attention.
Logo and Wireframe design
Together with the client, we made some big decisions during this process. We use wire-framing as a great way to outline navigation and areas of information. We focused on basic layout and content, ignoring distractions such as colours and graphics, to ensure that all the key user needs were met on each page of the website.
Design
This is when the Mauritian Foods Online project began to come to life. Following the new brand guidelines, applying colour palettes, introducing new visual assets and real content to the wireframes, we started delivering our vision. At this point, we also delivered our design concepts to the client for feedback and collaboration, allowing them to influence and support the design process.
Build
The build process was carefully managed between our design and development teams. We have a full and dedicated development team with a very broad range of skills and we were able to meet some very complex requirements.
Test
The final stage in the process was the testing phase – This is a vital step in high-quality project delivery. We ensured that the website was fully functional and error-free, testing the website for accessibility and ensuring that the website worked fully in all of the various web browsers – These are all standard requirements for all of our builds.
Result
The new website vastly improves the customer journey, helps streamline administration and make better use of search engines to help increase website traffic. We have also implemented an SEO strategy for the client. The site structure was carefully planned to aid keyword rankings. The site is product heavy therefore content creation, including metadata, across the website was implemented. The site has seen huge ranking increases across all non-branded as well as branded keywords and is now ranked first on Google for searches on Mauritian Foods and Mauritian Food Products. The acquired Social Media Package through Icy Mango also helps to achieve this.
